Peukenzee started in 2018 out of frustration over the sheer number of cigarette filters littering the streets. Whether in parks, festivals, or during breaks, it seemed common to casually toss cigarette butts on the ground. The harmful environmental impact of these filters, combined with a lack of awareness among smokers, motivated them to take action.
